A memorial service for Bob Cason, age 83, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating.

Inurnment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, prior to the service.

Bob passed from this life on Saturday, December 14, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Bob Cason was born on October 11, 1936 in Brownwood to Fred Paul and Velma (Garmon) Cason. He was a graduate of Early High School. Bob served his country in the Naval Reserves from 1954-1962. On January 3, 1978, Bob married Nancy Murray in Brownwood. Bob enjoyed a 40 year career with Lone Star Gas Co. He was proud of his years of service to the company and the lifelong friendships with his coworkers. Bob also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Early First Baptist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy Cason of Brownwood; three children, Tad Cason and wife Janet of Rowena, Jim Cook and wife Patricia of Cross Plains and Carla Laukaitis and friend Terry of Seabrook; seven grandchildren, Ashley Tennison, Wacey Cason and wife Jessica, JD Cook and wife Angie, Ty Cason and wife Kayla, McCayla Nichols and husband Michael, Tyler Laukaitis and Brian Laukaitis; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a special granddaughter, Jenna Cason.
