Donna Jeanne Boddy Love went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

Donna was the daughter of Charles A. and Alice Dodge Boddy. She was born on November 13, 1928 in Stroud, Oklahoma. She was blessed to be born into a loving family. Her parents, one half-sister, two half- brothers and her beloved husband, Charles E. Love, preceded her in death.

Her family moved to Kilgore, Texas where she graduated from Kilgore High School in 1946 and from Kilgore Junior College in 1948. She attended North Texas Teachers College [now State University] in Denton, Texas. She graduated in August, 1949 with a BS in Education degree.

Her father had requested that she not marry until she received her degree, so she and Charles Everett Love were married on August 25, 1949 in the Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton, Texas. They shared nearly 62 years together until Charles’ death in 2011. The years were full of joy, some sorrow, shared interests, goals, dreams and trips to all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Their marriage was blessed with two children, Deborah Ann Love Canfield and David Earl Love and his wife Sue, whom she loved like a daughter. They gave Donna and Charlie much joy and pride. There were five grandchildren: Breanna Canfield Quinn and her husband Michael, Brett Derrick Canfield, Elizabeth Love Lindamood and her husband Colin, Stephen Charles Love and his wife, Juliann, and Sarah Ann Love. They brightened their lives with fun times and treasured memories. There are seven great- grandchildren: Saoirse, Eibhleann, Caelainn & Fiachra Quinn, Tyler Canfield and Everett and Coen Lindamood.

Donna taught in the Texas Public School System for thirty-six years. She taught in Alvord, Eldorado and Seminole. She loved working with children and she treasured the contacts which she maintained with former students and colleagues.

She was a member of the Early First Baptist Church and of the Jewell Sunday School Class. Her church was very special and important to her. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Mary Garland Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Texas State and Brown County Retired Teachers Association and the 7th Armored Division Association. Donna also served as a volunteer at Good Samaritan Ministries and she and Charlie enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels for several years.

She loved her Lord, her husband, her family, her friends and her nation.

Graveside services will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Park at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 20, 2020, under the direction of Heartland Funeral & Cremation Service.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Good Samaritan Ministries of Brownwood, Texas are requested.
