Linda Joy Ehrke Lewis of Early, Texas, loving wife, mother and NaNaw, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 24, 2020.

Funeral services are under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday July 30th, 2020.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 31st, 2020 at Salt Creek Baptist Church, with graveside services to follow.

Linda was born May 24, 1935 in Brown County to John H. and Joy Doss Ehrke, who preceded her in death. She was married to the only love of her life, James W. Lewis on August 7, 1952 for over 60 years. James preceded her in death in 2013, as did their daughter Kerry Ann Lewis Lilley in 2017. Linda worked for over 25 years at Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and was a life-long member of Salt Creek Baptist Church, having been treasurer, Sunday school teacher and pianist for many years. She enjoyed working with her flowers and plants, eating and visiting with friends, and feeding her deer and birds. Linda’s fur babies kept her busy and were always a comforting friend in her lap.  Linda loved all her children and grandchildren and they loved her much; so today our family is celebrating her reunion with our Savior and family who have gone before her.

Linda is survived by her son Mike Lewis and wife Judy of Burnet, her daughter Judy Lewis Layton of Brownwood, and her son Matt Lewis and wife Charlotte of San Angelo. Linda is survived by eight grandchildren: Chuck Murphy and wife Beth, Brice Waterman and wife Ashley, Cody Lilley and wife Chelsea, Jameson Lewis, Carson Lewis, Luke Lewis, Lauren Layton White and husband Travis, Samantha Lewis and eight great-grandchildren: Addison, Audrey, Aiden, Lily Rain, Harper, Beaux, Wimberley Ann and Summer Kay. She is also survived by her brother Jack Ehrke and wife Gaenell of Salt Creek, her aunt Dorothy Doss, sister-in-law Faye Lewis along with nieces and nephews, Lynn Joy Poe, Howard Ehrke, Jackie Stansbury, Larry Ehrke, Connie Teal, Dean Lewis and numerous cousins.
