Rodney Jennings, 71, of Clyde died Friday, November 27, 2020 in an Abilene hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Eula with Pastor Johnny Hailes officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Rodney was born December 11, 1948 in Coleman to Arthur Vollie and Gussie (Sparkman) Jennings. With his parents being teachers, Rodney attended many different schools throughout the years, graduating from Pharr High School. After graduating, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Nancy Spitzer in Clyde on August 14, 1970. After his military service, he attended Texas Tech University, earning his BS degree in Plant and Soil Science. He was a lifetime farmer and rancher, and also a crop insurance adjuster for Great American Crop Insurance Company for over 20 years. He was a member, and deacon, of the First Baptist Church of Eula.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Spitzer Jennings of Clyde; son Thomas Coby Jennings and wife Christine of Clyde; three brothers, Vollie Jennings of Coleman, Galan Jennings and wife Jerry of Novice and Tommy Jennings of Coleman; three grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth, Andrew Thomas and Faith Renἀ Jennings.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents.
