The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to numerous calls between December 30 and January 4 as shown below.

On Wednesday, Dec. 30, Deputy Saydie Bradley took a report of Unlawful Disclosure or Promotion of Intimate Visual Material.

On Thursday, Dec. 31 at about 1:46 p.m.Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Blarney Dr. in Brownwood. This was in regard to criminal mischief. Langley spoke to a victim who stated he believes his neighbor shot the front window and driver side window of his vehicle.

On Thursday, Dec. 31, Lt. Pete Bastardo spoke with an individual in regard to missing documents from her residence. Information was gathered for a report.

On Friday, Jan. 1 at about 5:20 a.m. Deputy Marvin Simpson responded to the 3500 block of CR 234. This was in regards to a stranded motorist. Upon arriving on scene, Deputy Simpson located a black KIA Forte in the ditch with a male subject asleep behind the wheel. Deputy Simpson identified the driver. Deputy Simpson could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from thr driver and noticed the driver’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Deputy Simpson had the driver perform the standardized field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for Class B Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated. A report was made.

On Friday, Jan. 1 at about 2:58 p.m. Deputy Simpson responded to 3800 CR 112. This was in regard to animal cruelty. Upon arriving on scene, Deputy Simpson was advised by the caller the owner of the black dog on scene had left the dog chained to a tree. Deputy Simpson noticed there was still a small portion of a chain still around the dog’s neck. Deputy Simpson also noticed the chain was embedded in the dog’s neck and there was an open wound on the top of the dog’s neck. The owner was located and was advised to get medical attention for the dog and a follow up will be done. A report was made.

On Saturday, Jan. 2 Deputy Toby Mathis, was on patrol on Hwy 377 S, near the intersection of FM 1176. This was when Mathis observed an individual standing on the roadway. After making contact with the individual to check his welfare, he was placed in custody for Public Intoxication.

On Saturday, Jan. 2 Deputy Andre Smoot, responded to Brownwood Market Storage buildings for a burglary. Smoot arrived and contacted the storage unit renter. Smoot obtained photographs of the scene and completed a report for further investigation.

On Saturday, Jan. 2 Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to the Quite County RV Park. This was for a report of Criminal Trespass. An individual was reporting a suspect was trespassing on his property again. The suspect was arrested for two active warrants, and a report for criminal trespass was made.

On Sunday, Jan. 3 at about 1:08 p.m. Deputy Simpson responded to US 377 S. This was in regard to a possible burglary of a habitation. Upon arrival, Deputy Simpson spoke with the caller who advised she believed her cousin had trespassed in the residence. She also thinks he took his wallet and DVD’s that he had left after being evicted from the residence. The caller asked for a criminal trespass warning be issued to the suspects. Deputy Simpson attempted to locate both subject to issue the warnings. A report was made.

On Sunday, Jan. 3 Deputy Toby Mathis, checked on a vehicle, which was parked with its hazards on near the intersection of FM 1849 and Hwy 279. After speaking with the driver, Mathis learned of an aggravated assault, which occurred earlier in the day. The individual said her boyfriend hit her with a firearm and pointed it at her. Information was gathered and the ARK was contacted to provide assistance. A report was made.

On Monday, Jan. 4 at about 3:36 p.m. Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at Blarney Dr. in Brownwood. This was in regard to criminal mischief. Langley spoke with the victim who stated someone broke out a window in the front part of his residence while he was away.

On Monday, Jan. 4 at 4:19 p.m. Corporal Jayson Bastardo, was dispatched a walk in. This was in regard to theft by check. Upon arrival, Bastardo spoke with an individual who said he loaned a person money. Stanford said the check was postdated. When he went to deposit the check the check had been declined. After further investigation information was gathered and a report was taken.

On Monday, Jan. 4 at 7:05 p.m. Corporal Jayson Bastardo was dispatched a terroristic threat call, which could be handled by public service. Bastardo spoke with the caller who said his neighbor came onto his property and threatened him. After further investigation, information was gathered and a report was taken.
