The following calls for service were answered by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in the last few days.
On Thursday, Jan. 14 at about 8:59 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at the 2200 block of CR 180 in Brownwood. This was in regards to illegal dumping. Langley located a green and red pull out sofa on the side of the roadway.
On Friday, Jan, 15 at approximately 3:43 pm deputies arrived to Vick Drive in reference to moved items on someone’s property. After further investigation, a report was made.
On Friday, Jan. 15, Deputy Toby Mathis, spoke with an individual at the Sheriff’s Office. This was in regards to a threatening text message received from her brother and wanted it documented.
On Saturday, Jan. 16 at approximately 5:44 p.m. deputies arrived at Cashell Drive. This was in reference to the property owner finding an opened door at the residence. The residence had been burglarized. Photographs and fingerprints were taken from the scene and a report was made.
On Saturday, Jan. 16 Deputy Toby Mathis, observed a white Chevy pickup make a left turn while having a red light at the intersection of E. Commerce and Main Blvd. Mathis conducted a traffic stop, and the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed in custody for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Conviction.
On Sunday, Jan. 17 at approximately 12:13 a.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover and Sgt. Taylor Fletcher were patrolling Limerick Drive. While there, a suspect was stopped as a suspicious person, due to ongoing burglaries in the area and time of night. For officer safety the firearm in his possession was secured. The firearm was observed to have the serial number obliterated to the point of not being readable. The suspect was then placed under arrest for Tampering with Identification Numbers.
On Sunday, Jan. 17 at approximately 6:41p.m. deputies responded to CR 178 in Bangs. This was in reference to recently recovered speakers, which were allegedly burglarized from a residence. After further investigation a report was made.
On Monday, Jan. 18 at approximately 10:13 a.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Starboard Dr. in May. This was in reference to the theft of a 4-wheeler.
On Wednesday, Jan. 20, Deputy Mason Fabbiani was dispatcher to the intersection of 411 and 406. This was in regards to a subject asleep in his vehicle. Deputy Fabbiani made contact with the subject and noticed a rifle in the passenger seat of the vehicle. The subject passed field sobriety text, but admitted to being a felon. The subject was placed in custody for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon and transported to the Brown County Jail.
