According to the Brownwood Police Department:  On Monday, February 15, 2021, at approximately 10:10 pm, Officer James Wells and Jessica Risdon were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 4200blk of US Hwy 377 regarding a report of a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived, they were told that the male suspect ran from the apartment and into an adjacent residential neighborhood.  Officer Wells met with the female victim at her apartment and learned that she and her boyfriend, Christian Lee Gandy, 21, just returned home. They began arguing for no real reason.  The female went to the balcony to remove herself from him.  Gandy also entered the balcony and began yelling at the female and eventually throwing her around by her hair.  The female began yelling for help and the neighbors exited their apartments to investigate which caused Gandy to flee.

Other officers in the area located Gandy and returned him to the apartment.  Investigation revealed that he has a history of family violence.  He was charged with Continuous Violence Against the Family and for Unlawful Restraint.  According to Brown County online jail records, Gandy is under a total bond of $32,500.

Those charged are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
