Brookesmith Junior Elida Uvalle was given a sendoff  last week before competing Saturday, May 14, 2022, in the University Interscholastic League Track and Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.  The entire Brookesmith ISD faculty and student body turned out to bid the best of luck as Uvalle,  escorted by Athletic Director Todd Lawdermilk and Coach Chris Moody boarded the SUV to depart.
