Brown County Rodeo is June 2-4

The 58th Annual Brown County Rodeo is one week away, June 2nd through the 4th.

To kickoff rodeo week activities, a downtown kickoff party will be held this Saturday, May 28 from 6 to 11 pm behind Teddy’s Brewhau and on Baker Street from Hawkins to Fisk.  The event will feature Guthrie Kennard performing, a cornhole tournament, food trucks, jump house and a variety of vendors.

For the rodeo itself – gates open at the Earl Q. Wilson Arena at 6:30 pm each night.  Kids mutton bustin’ will start at 7:00 pm.  The rodeo begins at 8:00 pm each night.

The Andrews Rodeo Company will again provide the bucking stock and T.C. Long will serve as rodeo announcer.

Rodeo Clown is Chase Nolen, the Man in the Can.

The San Angelo Rodeo Ambassadors will perform.

Dana Bowman will parachute into the arena with the American flag and the Fort Hood Calvary Soldiers will perform.

There will also be free style bull fighting and team bull riding on Friday and Saturday nights as well as the second annual high school aged calf scramble.

The weekend will conclude with the return of the rodeo dance on Saturday, June 4, featuring the Kevin Seale Band, at the Brown County Fair Grounds, located at 4206 Highway 377 South, in Brownwood.

TICKETS

Advance tickets are available at KOXE and Citizens National Bank, cash only.

Adults – $8; Children 13-18 $5; Children 12 and Under – Free.  Tickets are good for any one night.

Day of rodeo – tickets are $10 for adults.

Cooler passes are $20.

Watts Jones will serve as Rodeo Queen this year.  Jr. Miss is Gentry Shephard.  Princess is Kenzie Willis.
