Bettie Bryan, 95, of Rockwood

Bettie Bryan, age 95 of Rockwood, Texas passed to the arms of her Jesus on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 10:07 am at her home in Rockwood.

Services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Burkett Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Bardin Striegler officiating.  Interment will follow at the Burkett Cemetery with services under the direction and care of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 5:00-to 6:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

Bettie Jane Hunter was born October 5, 1926 in Echo, Coleman County, Texas to Charles William Hunter, Sr and Essie Lee Baker Hunter.  She was raised in Burkett graduating from Burkett High School in 1942.  On May 4, 1945 Bettie married her loving husband Curtis Allen Bryan in Coleman, Texas and they celebrated over 50 years of marriage.

She has been a resident of Rockwood since 1945 where she was an active member of 4H Club and the Rockwood Baptist Church.  Betty was an excellent Porcelain Doll Creator, she fashioned and sew beautiful draperies and excelled in Cake design for many including Texas Governor John B. Connally and President L B and Lady Bird Johnson.  She served as a candy stripper at the Sealy Hospital and to hone her craft of sewing she worked at the Coleman Sewing Factory.

2 Granddaughters – Bonnie & husband Joe Arce of Granger, Texas

Jackie Boyd of Rockwood, Texas

4 Great Grandchildren

Jolee Arce, Jayton Arce, Jaxx Baynes & Jane Baynes

Sister – Ann Stuzman of Mansfield, Texas

A number of Nieces and Nephews

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Aileen James
