Ranger College is proud to announce that Llew Rust has been named the 2024 Coach of the Year by the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). This prestigious honor is a testament to Coach Rust’s dedication and the significant impact he has made on the college rodeo circuit.
Under Coach Rust’s guidance, the Ranger College rodeo team has not only achieved outstanding competitive results but has also embodied the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. His approach to coaching goes beyond technique and strategy; it’s about cultivating an environment where student-athletes can grow both in the arena and in life.
“Llew Rust’s commitment to excellence is evident in everything he does,” said Scott Norwood, Athletic Director, at Ranger College. “He has not only built a strong team but has also fostered a supportive community that values hard work, integrity, and persistence. We’re incredibly proud to have him as a part of our institution.”
The Coach of the Year award is given annually to a coach who has profoundly influenced their team’s success, shown exceptional leadership qualities, and contributed to the advancement of rodeo at the collegiate level. Coach Rust’s unique ability to inspire and motivate his athletes has set him apart in a field of highly talented and dedicated professionals.
