Rebecca Sue “Becky” Reynolds, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, May 22, 2026, after a brief illness, at the age of 70. A Celebration of Life for Becky Reynolds to be held at Victory Life Church in Brownwood will be announced at a later date.
Becky was born on May 26, 1955 in Ephrata, Washington to Moran and Autumn Chambers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Joe Reynolds, whom she married on September 21, 1999 in Brownwood, Texas. Becky never had children, but treated Joe’s three adult children like her own.
Becky graduated with honors from Clatskanie High School in Clatskanie, Oregon where the family had moved in 1970. She attended secretarial school in Portland, Oregon before moving to Wasilla, Alaska with her parents and two of her siblings, Tod and Lori. She lived in Alaska for 30 years, during which time she worked for Matanuska Telephone Company, and Matanuska Electric company. She moved down to Seattle, Washington for a few years and worked as an office manager for Air Products, before returning to Alaska. She met her husband, Joe Reynolds in Anchorage, Alaska and she went to work managing a small airfield on the North Slope at Deadhorse, Alaska while Joe worked for his uncle’s company, Reynolds Electric, nearby. They split their time between Alaska and Texas for many years until she returned permanently to Brownwood while Joe travelled back and forth. She worked for several years at Clayton Homes in Early managing the office and closing sales. She retired from there after she got her dog, Pepper, who was her faithful companion everywhere she went.
Becky loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and she loved serving at her church, Victory Life Church, in Brownwood, Texas, with the wonderful teams of Greeters and Prayer Ministry. She helped out everywhere there, including Children’s Ministry, cleaning and decorating classrooms, putting together baskets for families at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and anywhere they needed her. Becky was a team member for 13 years with Epiphany Ministries for Incarcerated Youth, an ecumenical ministry that shares the gospel over a three-day weekend several times a year with youth incarcerated in the Texas Department of Corrections. She was the “energizer bunny” whom everyone loved and her wonderful smile could light up a room wherever she went. She served as a volunteer at Salvation Army, serving food to the lovely people that came through their doors, volunteered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace Chapter in Brown County helping her sister with volunteer registration at Bed Building events, and recently worked as a volunteer in the Food Pantry Ministry at Freedom Fellowship Church in Early, Texas. She was a big supporter of the Missions group of Ministering Grace Ministries who serve in Panama, Ecuador and Costa Rica, as well as Weatherford, Texas.
Becky loved praying for and encouraging people wherever she met them, in church, at a park, or in Walmart. She loved her best friend, Nora Phelps, who was her partner in greeting at the early church service, and whom she spent much of her time with, shopping, going to lunch, or going to doctor’s appointments. She also spent quality time with her sisters, Deb Tumlinson and Lori Johnson-Beuhler, and her husband John. She had innumerable friends who loved her.
Becky is survived by her brothers, Jeff Chambers and his wife Judy of Sequim, Washington, and Tod Chambers and his wife Donna of North Pole, Alaska; her sisters, Deb Tumlinson and her husband Joe of Brownwood, and Lori Johnson-Beuhler and her husband John Beuhler of Early; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Moran and Autumn Chambers; her husband, Harvey Joe Reynolds; and her sister, Jill Kerns.
