Brownwood ISD Teachers 2025-26 Elementary Teacher of the Year Jana Roan and Secondary Teacher of the Year Megan Norvil received new “Teacher of the Year” cars at the BISD End-of-Year awards ceremony on Friday, May 29.

Every year the Brownwood Education Foundation funds the awards and cash for Brownwood ISD End of Year Teacher and Retirement Awards. From Service Year awards to Retirements, there are many types of awards and several, such as the Rising Star and Distinguished Teacher awards, are selected by their principals for high achievements throughout the year.

This year, to celebrate our Teachers of the Year, Brownwood ISD and the Brownwood Education Foundation partnered with community sponsors to provide the award winners with extra special acknowledgments! BISD Teachers of the Year were chosen out of the Distinguished Teachers award recipients to represent Brownwood ISD at this year’s annual conference and received a 2026 Toyota Rav 4 FREE one-year lease provided by Bruner Auto Group! Community sponsors supporting this project were: Bruner, Teinert Construction, Claycomb Associates, TexasBank, Citizens National Bank, Matthew Williams State Farm, SONIC, and Willie’s T’s.
