The Gordon Wood Hall of Champions on Friday announced its 2026 class. This year’s honorees, representing the 25th class to be inducted, include the following:
- Jerry McCullough
- Mitch Moore
- Mitch Stovall
- Adam Lancaster
- Jeremy Alcorn
Also, there will be special recognition and an honor bestowed upon the 2025 Brownwood Lady Lions track and field state championship team.
The 2026 class will be formally inducted on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Brownwood Event Center. The inductees will also be recognized at the Lions’ October 23rd football game against Gatesville for homecoming.
The Gordon Wood Hall of Champions was founded to recognize outstanding members of Gordon Wood’s best high school teams and beyond who then went on to successful careers in their fields as adults. The first induction was held in 2000, three years before Wood’s death. Coach Wood left a list of players he selected, and the current Board continues to honor the legacy of Coach Wood through these inductees and others from recent Lion teams. More information will follow in the coming months.
