Marcella Marie “Marcy” Mueller, née Smith, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at her home in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by her devoted family.
Born on October 20, 1958, in San Antonio, Marcy was a proud native of the city she called home throughout her life. She grew up in San Antonio, attending Robert E. Lee High School, where she developed lifelong friendships and values that would shape her journey ahead. After high school, Marcy continued her education at Texas A&I University in Kingsville before attending San Antonio College and Park University, always striving to broaden her horizons and pursue knowledge.
On May 21, 1977, Marcy married the love of her life, William Stone “Stony” Mueller, in San Antonio. For forty-nine years, Marcy and Stony built a life full of love, mutual respect, and unbreakable partnership. Their enduring bond was a source of inspiration to all who knew them.
Marcy’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. Known for her loving and outgoing personality, Marcy brought warmth and laughter into every room, and her affection for family and friends knew no bounds. She was a Christian, devoted wife, mother, and homemaker whose attentiveness and nurturing spirit enriched the lives of those around her.
In addition to her role at home, Marcy enjoyed a meaningful career at Sears Holdings Corporation, where she rose through the ranks to become a Process Improvement Analyst. Her dedication, tenacity, and commitment to excellence were evident to all her colleagues, who admired her work ethic and positive outlook.
Outside of work and family life, Marcy delighted in creative pursuits. She found great happiness in scrapbooking and crafting, often gifting her beautifully made creations to family and friends. Her passion for capturing memories and making art reflected her generous and thoughtful soul.
Marcy is survived by her beloved husband, Stony, who stood by her side for nearly five decades. She is also survived by her three children, David, Monica, and Christopher, and spouses, four grandchildren Dawson, Adalyn, Allison, and Alyssa, brother Don Smith Jr. and spouse, mother Tina Smith, and her beloved Boston Terrier, Bella. She is preceded in death by her father, Don Smith, Sr., and her brothers, Billy Don Smith and Roger Smith.
Family and friends are invited to honor Marcy’s memory at a visitation on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W Pecan St, in Coleman. A graveside service celebrating her remarkable life will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rockwood Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Dean officiating. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman. Marcy requests that those who attend wear bright and colorful clothing to honor her life and memory.
Marcy requests in lieu of flowers, bring new unused Teddy Bears to donate to first responders. Alternatively, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Teddy Bear Patrol Foundation at www.teddybearpatrol.org because Marcy said “flowers die but Teddy Bears live on.” This organization gives teddy bears to first responders to give to children during emergency situations.
Those who knew Marcy will remember her unwavering love, her infectious joy, and her tireless devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
