By Rick Phelps

Personnel within the Brown County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit a retired officer and his family. Bob Beadel, a former reserve officer and retired constable, and wife Ann lost their home last week to fire.

A brisket fundraiser will be held January 26 from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the law enforcement center, located at 1050 W. Commerce. Brisket plates, including the fixings, and a drink will be available for $10. Orders will be made to go. The department has also collected money within the LEC and from local businesses.

The cause of the fire which destroyed the Beadel home has yet to be released. There were no injuries.
