There has been a change of location for an upcoming candidate forum. The forum, scheduled for Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m. is being hosted by the Pecan Valley Republican Women and the Brown County Republican Women in collaboration with The Brown County Republican Party will now be held at Victory Life Church, located at 901 C.C. Woodson Road. Candidates in contested races will be allowed a few minutes for introductions and then will open for questions which will consist of written questions selected in advance. If time allows, additional questions will be selected from those submitted in writing by the audience. If you have any questions for candidates, send them by email to hefner254@yahoo.com or in writing at the forum. Questions will be screened to insure they are applicable to the issues concerning that position. Those running, who Brown County voters will elect are:
County Commissioner – Precinct 1–(Incumbent) Gary Worley, Tommy Blevins, Robert W. “Bob” Contreras, and Jimmy Trowbridge.
County Commissioner – Precinct 3 – (Incumbent), Wayne Shaw, Pat McLaughlin, and Jessica Acker.
State Representative – District 60 – Mike Lang and Kevin Downing.
State Senator – District 24 – Susan King, Jon Cobb, Ryan Downton, Dawn Buckingham, Reed Williams and Brent Mayes.
Brown County Sheriff – Billy Bloom, Vance Hill and Paul Lilly.
District Attorney – 35th Judicial District – (Incumbent) Micheal Murray and Bill Ruth.
Once again, this forum will be at Victory Life Church, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 4.
