County commissioners face full agenda Tuesday morning

By Rick Phelps

Due to the President’s Day holiday, the County Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. During the meeting, county judge Ray West will seek approval for a resolution pertaining to the preservation of a historic bridge on County Road 225 at Clear Creek. West will also seek approval of an amendment to the advance funding agreement for the preservation and adaptive use of the bridge.  West will also discuss the approval of hiring and salary of the new elections administrator. The Brown County Election Commission met recently and have presented their recommendation to the court. The individual hired will take the place of former administrator Suzy Young who left that position in 2015. Assistant Administrator Larry Franks has been acting in an interim capacity for several months. In other business, the court will hear a report on Code Red and hear from chief deputy Vance Hill, who will present a racial profiling report and request approval to purchase equipment for recently acquired Ford Explorers.  Auditor Nina Cox will speak, seeking approval for courthouse security overtime.
