The Pecan Valley Republican Women will host Mike Lang, newly elected Texas House District 60 Representative, as their guest speaker, this Thursday at the Brownwood Country Club. The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. Lang, having won the Republican Primary back in March is the state representative elect as there is no democrat challenger on the ballot for the November general election. Lang will be discussing the election, as well sharing plans on confronting issues that will be facing the upcoming legislation session, such as the constant increase in property taxes by using the guise of increasing “property values”, which in turn increases the property tax.

He will also discuss the many water issues that are of concern for rural areas; utilization of state tax dollars for education and the creation of the state budget for the next two-year period.
