Congressman Mike Conaway visits Brownwood

Congressman Mike Conaway, representative for the 11th congressional district conducted a town hall yesterday at the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce before a standing room only crowd. Conaway began by discussing “A Better Way—A Vision of a Confident America”, a plan by house republicans to, what they say is an attempt to change the future by focusing on six key areas.

At www.bettergop.com, the plan places an emphasis on the constitution, economy, health care, national security, poverty and tax reform. Conaway discussed the new program. “We will be talking, and talking a lot,” Conaway said.  Conaway compared this new plan to that of one created by Ronald Reagan in 1980.

He also discussed tax reform, saying that simplifying the tax code needs to be priority. Conaway told the crowd he is supporting Donald Trump. “I feel as if I can better work with Mr. Trump than I can Mrs. Clinton.” Conaway periodically hosts town hall tours where he visits several locations within the district.
