Brownwood City Hall and other city facilities will close Monday, Jan. 2 in celebration of the New Year holiday. The police and fire departments, along with other critical city services will remain unaffected by the closure. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:

• Solid Waste Collections: Residents with curbside garbage collection, have your blue or green cart placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your designated days:

• No collection on Jan. 2
• Monday’s collection will take place Jan. 3
• Tuesday’s collection will take place Jan. 4
• Thursday and Friday’s collections will then go back to regular schedule
• Call Public Works/Sanitation Department at 643-4200 with any questions

 

• Utilities: Emergency service is available for water and sewer needs 24 hours per day, seven days a week. After hours emergency water line breaks and wastewater backup calls can be made to police dispatch at 646-6000.
• Landfill and Recycling Center: Will close Jan. 2. Questions concerning the landfill can be addressed by calling 646-6574.
