Out of towners arrested on drug charges, goat roaming at local business

Early Police Officer Andre Smoot responded to a call for service regarding a possible disturbance in the 900 block of Early Blvd. Smoot made contact with a male and female, immediately smelling marijuana. Officers interviewed the pair who said they were lost and began arguing. Both admitted to smoking marijuana and allowed a search of the vehicle. Officers located marijuana and methamphetamines in the vehicle, as well as a loaded handgun.
The female attempted to stash methamphetamines between the seats of a deputy’s patrol vehicle who was assisting in the transport of the female. Angel Arenas of Gatesville was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance over one gram, under four grams, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone. Isaac Villanueva of Cibelo was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.
In another incident, officers responded to Sonic on Early Blvd. after a call regarding a goat grazing in the grass on the property. Officers attempted to locate the owner, only to discover the owner was parked in a stall at the location eating, while the goat was taking time to “go to the bathroom.” The goat eventually got into the front seat and left.
