Early Police Officers responded to Heartland Mall Sunday after a report of a domestic disturbance between a male and a female. As officers arrived, the female was leaving, who was stopped by officers. The female, identified as Crystal Marie Chapa said “Yeah, I slapped him because he was talking crap to me.” Witnesses told officers that Chapa had made several attempts to run over the male victim with her car. As Chapa and the male pulled into the mall parking lot, Chapa began driving fast and reckless so the male could not exit the vehicle. The male turned off the key to slow the vehicle. The male then exited the vehicle. Chapa began chasing the male, trying to run him over. The male victim reported stated that during the struggle in and out of the car, he was repeatedly struck in the face by Chapa. Officers noted the male victim had severe redness to his nose, cheeks and face. The male said he attempted to call 911, but Chapa allegedly prevented him from doing so. Chapa was placed under arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (car) and interference with an emergency phone call.
