Early City Council to recognize organization for 40 years of service

When the Early City Council meets Tuesday evening, a proclamation will be read to recognize the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club for 40 years of service to the community. The organization holds regular meetings and has assisted hundreds throughout the years by holding different fundraisers. In other business, the council will:
• Receive an administrator’s report from Tony Aaron

• Consider adoption of an ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of City of Early, Texas Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 2017; levying an annual Ad Valorem Tax and providing for the security for and payment of said Certificates of Obligation; providing an effective date; and enacting other provisions relating to the subject.

• Consider approving a resolution, ordering an election to be held May 6, 2017 to elect mayor and two council members and providing details relating to the holding of such election.

• Consider an ordinance approving a zoning change from R-1 to R-3 for property located at 111 Canal St.

• Consider an ordinance approving a zoning change from C-1 to C-3 for property located at 1200 Early Blvd.

• Consideration of a resolution, approving a Municipal Development grant application for site improvements at 919 Early Blvd, Suite B.

• Consider approval of a resolution, authorizing the use of Hotel Occupancy funds in the amount of $30,000 as an approved project: Pioneer Days Festival.

• Consideration to approve a Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund Grant application for Howard Payne University Women’s Basketball Tournament.

• Consideration to approve a Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund Grant application for Brownwood Bass Club Tournament.
