Vehicle stopped in Brown County while transporting narcotics

Sheriff’s deputy Leighton Wyatt received information that a 2016 Ford pickup would be transporting illegal narcotics into Brown County. Wyatt located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of Early Blvd. for violation of failure to maintain a single lane. Wyatt did not receive a response from the driver when asked if he could search the vehicle. It was discovered that one of the passengers had a warrant out of Erath County. The passenger was arrested and advised there was a methamphetamine pipe in the truck where he was seated. The remainder of the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle, which they did without incident. After a search of the vehicle, illegal narcotics were found on the driver and passenger with the warrant. The two were charged with possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Brown County Jail.
