Thursday night’s Pregnancy Care Center “Everyone Deserves a Birthday” event, featuring Tim Tebow, drew a massive crowd to the Brownwood Coliseum. PCC Director Terri Medlock said the event was a success. “We thought the event went great and was a lot of fun,” Medlock said. “There were some sound glitches which allowed us to have some live auctions.” Medlock said Tebow has a “unique” way of connecting with a crowd. “When Tim began speaking, you could hear a pin drop,” she explained. “Every person there was attentive and listened to the message he brought.”
Medlock said she was grateful for the supporters of the center. “Our sponsors, and there were 32 of them, helped pay for the event, and more important, helped send our message out that everyone does deserve a birthday and that every life is important.” Event goers are equally as important, she said. “For every person that bought a ticket, that money goes right back to the Pregnancy Care Center in Brownwood, Brady, Goldthwaite and our new satellite center in San Saba.”
Due to the success of the event, more services can be added. “We can begin to expand our services and education here in the Brownwood office and have made headway in meeting our goals and dreams of being able to do more in the central Texas area.”
During the evening, live and silent auctions were held, with individual items raising between $316 to $1,100. For more information about the center, visit pccbrownwood.com.
