Early Police Department Officer Contreras stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Early Blvd for driving with hazard lights on. The driver, Warner Massingil stated he had no lights, prompting the usage of the hazards. A license check revealed four outstanding warrants. Massingil was placed under arrest for the warrants. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
Another incident involving drugs occurred when Officer Dre Smoot stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Early Blvd for speeding. As Smoot approached the vehicle, he smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Smoot questioned the driver, Elijah Jones about the smell. Jones stated there was marijuana in the vehicle, but he thought it had all been smoked. The passenger, identified as Gabriella Deleon stated there was about an ounce left. Smoot located five bags of marijuana totaling approximately six grams. Marijuana was also discovered in Deleons purse. Paraphernalia was also discovered. Both were transported to the Brown County Jail and booked for possession of marijuana.
