Brownwood ISD’s Administration has announced transfer application deadlines and amended conditions for the 2017-2018 school year.
Regarding students who live within the District, there is a possibility that children in grades PK through 3rd grade will be allowed to transfer to another elementary campus within the district for the ’17-’18 school year. Given current enrollment and staffing levels, requests for campus transfers will be given consideration but are not guaranteed.
For those students that live outside of the district, there is also the possibility that children in grades KG through 3rd grade currently living outside the District boundaries will be allowed to request a specific campus within the district. Again, those requests will be considered but are not guaranteed, depending on staffing and enrollment levels.
Current out-of-district transfer students are required to submit an application no later than April 28 for the ’17-’18 school year. Current out-of-district transfer students will be allowed to remain enrolled in BISD, pending approval from the receiving principal. Factors considered are a student’s attendance, tardiness, and discipline history. BISD does not accept out-of-district transfers for Pre-Kindergarten students. If you have already submitted a transfer request for 2017-18, whether outside the district or within the district, it is not necessary to re-apply unless you would like to request a specific elementary campus. Amended applications will replace applications previously submitted.
For students already in BISD, transfer applications will be sent home with students on Wednesday, April 19. Applications will also be available in elementary campus offices and the District office beginning on that date. Letters of approval or denial will be mailed to the address on the application no later than Thursday, July 27.
All transfer applications must be accompanied by the student’s most recent report card. Please keep in mind that parents must provide transportation for students approved for transfer.
