Three splash pads to built in Brownwood, will be a free activity

The Brownwood City Council approved an expenditure of up to $550,000 for the construction of three splash pads in Brownwood. According to city manager Emily Crawford, the splash pads will be constructed near Woodland Heights Elementary, East Elementary and Northwest Elementary.

Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes said that he and the council consistently hear that there is no activities for children in Brownwood and that the construction of these pads will change that perception. According to a representative from Vortex, the construction of the splash pads, which will be a free activity, will begin at the end of July, and weather permitting, will be complete by mid-August.
