Juveniles arrested for car burglary, gun stolen during act

Earlier this week, two juveniles were arrested after burglarizing a motor vehicle in the 3000 block of Asbury. Taken during the burglary was money, sunglasses and a Glock 43 9MM with a magazine containing six hollow point 9MM rounds. In another incident, officers responded to a call regarding a terroristic threat that occurred in the 1500 block of Belle Plain. The victim stated threats were made via social media. The case was forwarded to the criminal investigative division for further action.

The following is a list of other calls:

  • An officer was dispatched to the intersection of Vine St. and Ave. G in reference to a motor vehicle accident. The suspect vehicle left the scene, but the license plate was located in the roadway. The victim in the accident has chosen to pursue criminal charges against the suspect, who was located, for failure to render aid.
  • Minnie Thompson was arrested for driving while intoxicated with child under 15 years of age after failing multiple standardized field sobriety tests.
  • Officers responded to the 2300 block of Magnolia in reference to a stolen motor vehicle.
  • A report was generated after officers responded to the 1700 block of Austin Ave. in regards to a burglary of a habitation.
  • Police also responded to the 1700 block of Dallas St. regarding a burglary of a habitation at that location.
  • A bicycle theft was reported in the 1800 block of Ave. C.
  • A burglary of a motor vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of Willis St.
  • A father called authorities in reference to his two sons smoking narcotics in their home in the 1600 block of Durham Ave.
  • A burglary was reported in the 900 block of W. Commerce.
