Officers with Brownwood Police Department are continuing to make drug arrests in different areas throughout town. Earlier this week, at approximately 9:20 a.m., officers arrested Christopher Smith in the 1200 block of Belle Plain for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. According to Smith’s arrest record, this is one of several times he has been arrested in the last eight years on drug charges. In another drug arrest, an officer was patrolling in the 1300 block of 2^nd St. when he initiated a stop related to a bicyclist riding without a front light. David Dewayne Peery was arrested for possession of controlled substance, penalty group 2.

In other incidents:

• A criminal mischief report was taken after an incident in the 1600 block of 11^th St.
• Officers responded to the 2200 block of Vincent regarding criminal mischief calls.
• A burglary of a habitation was reported in the 2800 block of Cleburne St.
• An officer was dispatched to Napa Auto parts in reference to fraud. A suspect was identified and an active report was generated.
