Earlier this week, the Early Police Department were notified of two possible suspects in the criminal mischief cases in which several mobile homes in the Northline Drive Trailer Park and several vehicles were vandalized with spray paint. One of the movie screens at Regal Theaters inside Heartland Mall was also spray painted.
The sheriff’s department received the initial phone call who forwarded the information to Detective Brandon McMillian who is currently working the case. McMillian located the individuals, who both confessed to the vandalism. Matthew Allen Keefe, 22 of Brownwood and Jesse Rodriguez, 22 of Abilene said they had been drinking and went around town looking for some things to “tag” (spray paint on) during the middle of the night.
The two also admitted to going to the trailer park and vandalizing vehicles and homes. The pair also drove to the mall and were walking around when they located an unlocked door. The two said they entered one of the theaters and spray-painted lines across one of the screens. Wednesday, warrants were obtained for burglary of a building, with intent to commit criminal mischief and graffiti, over $2,500, less than $30,000.
