Corporal Joe Thomas with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of County Road 551 and Bailey. After further investigation, the driver, Michael Shane Rohacek and passenger, Rebecca Blaine Eldred were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group, under two ounces and possession of marijuana, under two ounces.
In other incidents:
• A deputy assisted with the placing notices on abandoned vehicles on Belfast.
• A video game system was stolen from a home on Bayside Dr. in May.
• A deputy was dispatched to hand a call, via telephone in reference to an aggravated assault which occurred two months ago in Brownwood.
• A deputy was dispatched to US 183 S regarding a reckless driver. The deputy observed multiple traffic violations. The driver, identified as Jordan Demetrius Wells was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
• A deputy was dispatched to County Road 143 in reference to a burglary. Eric Lowell Bishop stated that he believed his wife, Amanda Darlene Swingle, or someone she knew entered his residence without his consent and took property. Bishop stated the burglary occurred sometime between June 21 and June 23.
• Jesse Mohr was arrested for assault family violence/impeding breathing.
• A caller stated several people charged her car and threw multiple beer bottles at her car. When deputies arrived, it was discovered a fight had occurred and both the caller and suspect left the party.
