As many of you know, KOXE took a clean sweep of the radio awards presented at the inaugural “Best of Brown County” event Saturday, hosted by the Brownwood Bulletin. KOXE was awarded “Best Radio Station” and Carl Wayne was named “Best DJ”. The “Voice of the Brownwood Lions”, Dallas Huston was voted the number two DJ of all the nominees. Other notable awards included Vance Hill, law enforcement officer of the year; Buddy Preston, firefighter of the year and Gene Deason, who was presented the first Harriette Graves Person of the Year Award. Second and third place winners were also recognized at the event. With more than 130 categories, hundreds of nominees were recognized. More than 167,000 votes were cast in this online competition.
