We are working on building our model railroad club back up, so we’ve decided to have a meet and greet on February 10th from 10a to noon. It will be at the Lehnis Railroad Museum. Interested people will get to meet current model railroad club members and the museum curator (myself), discover what the club is all about, and stay for a hands-on DIY skill class.
We are working on making this more of a partnership between the museum and club to better update the current model layouts and to help the museum out during field trips with running the model trains and talking to visitors about the model trains. In turn the museum will help in promoting club activities and provide a space for the club to meet and work on the museum’s model railroad layouts. I think it’s going to be a wonderful thing, for both of us.
The best part is we want anyone interested to join! Men, women, and children. It would be a great bonding experience, a way to give back to the community, and an opportunity to learn and pass on some really neat skills.
