Commissioners to discuss sale of fireworks at Monday meeting

When the Brown County Commissioners meet Monday, although the agenda is short, one issue could affect another. The court will discuss whether or not to reenact a burn ban. If the decision is made to reenact the burn ban, it will affect the second item on the agenda, which is consideration and possible approval of action regarding the Fourth of July fireworks period. Prior to all holidays where fireworks are typically sold, the court is required to decide whether or not sales will be allowable. If the burn ban is put back in place, fireworks will not be able to be sold. In other business, the court will hear from Sheriff Vance Hill who will be seeking authorization to accept a $100 cash donation.
