During a short meeting of the Brown County Commissioners this morning, the court unanimously voted to reenact a burn ban in the county. Again, Brown County is now under a burn ban. The next agenda item dealt with the sale of fireworks for the 4th of July period.
County Judge Ray West cleared up the issue and stated that although Brown County is now under a burn ban, the county is not considered to be in a drought status. With that, the court took no action, which means the sale and use of fireworks will be allowed for the holiday period.
In other business, the court approved Sheriff Vance Hill to accept a $100 donation from Sandra Childers. Hill said that money would be deposited into the donation account.
