The following are calls responded to by the Early Police Department between September 26 and October 1:
• Community Relations / Early Independent School District. Officers conducting walk throughs on school campuses
• Burglary – 400 block of Early Blvd.
• Juvenile problem – Child climbed school fence and ran. Officer located child
• Illegally parked vehicle in the 200 block of McDonald Dr. Vehicle towed.
• Parking violation – Orchard Dr.
• Medical emergency – 1300 block of Eastwind. Lifeguard transported.
• Alarm sounding in 1000 block of Early Blvd. Building secure.
• Reckless driver on Commerce St. in Brownwood traveling toward Early. Officer unable to located.
• Accident – 900 block of Early Blvd. Minor damage. No injuries.
• Missing person – 900 block of Early Blvd. Officer met with caller. Missing person was last seen in Comanche. Caller was advised he needed to meet with Comanche Sheriff’s Office to file report.
• Intoxicated person – 100 block of Early Blvd. Female fell down on sidewalk. Officer arrived and female stated she was in pain. EMS was contacted and transported the female to the emergency room. While enroute, the ambulance had to pull over because the female was fighting and trying to exit the ambulance. The officer was following and stopped with the ambulance. The female who was intoxicated was restrained after attempting to fight officers and began hitting the officers. The ER cleared the female of any injuries and the female was arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest and assaulting a public servant.
• Suspicious call – 100 block of Early Blvd. Caller heard a man yelling under a bridge. Officers located a male who stated he was singing.
• Bag of marijuana found in roadway.
• Domestic disturbance – Wills Way. Caller reported her grandson pulled a knife and threatened to kill her. Officers disarmed a 16 year old in possession of a knife. The minor was placed under arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence. Juvenile was taken to the juvenile probation office and turned over to JPO.
• Warrant service – 500 block of Norwood. Walter Tomkins arrested on outstanding warrants from Early P.D. for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony and assault family violence-strangulation. Tomkins attempted to hide from officers. The warrants were obtained after an incident that occurred a few days prior in the 600 block of Old Comanche Rd. where the suspect kicked in the back door to a residence and attacked his girlfriend and attempted to strangle her while she held their infant child.
