Robert Nelson ‘Bob’ Edmiston

Robert Nelson “BOB” Edmiston, age 78, of Brady, Texas passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 in Jourdanton, Texas. Bob was born June 7, 1940 in Brady, Texas to August Ray Edmiston and Nellie Ynez (Daugherty) Edmiston. He served in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Kersarge (one of the primary capsule recovery ships) during the early years of space program. He married Connie Prosise on May 7, 1977 in Brady, Texas. He worked as a mechanic for many years, working for Davenport Trucking, Schwerman Trucking, CX Trucking and Collier Trucking. He retired from G & RG Trucking in 2015, after 18 years as their terminal manager. Bob was a active member of the Heart of Texas Country Music Association, enjoyed arrowhead hunting and making unique lamps. He was also a corvette enthusiast. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Robert Nelson “BOB” Edmiston will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, October 22, 2018 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Rudy Rule officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Pallbearers will be Sylvester Roberts, Paul Keylich, Tracy Pitcox, Ronny McAnally, Brady Taylor and Burl Wiggington. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel McAnally,Zach Smith, Raymond Gonzales and Willie Nuncio.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of over 41 years, Connie Edmiston of Brady, Texas; daughters Jill Spencer and husband Alan of Baytown, Texas and Dottie Judy of Summerville, SC; brother Alfred Ray Edmiston and wife Teresa of Houston, Texas; sisters Doris Palmer of Bastrop, TX and Belinda Brown of Kyle, TX; brother-in-law Kenneth Prosise and wife Linda of Ballinger, TX; 5 grandchildren; 1great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father Travis Roles, Sr., brother Travis Roles Jr. and sister Patsy McAnally.
