Helen Marie Sharp, age 84, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord Friday, November 16, 2018, surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services for Helen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Artie Woodcox officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Helen was born to Ralph and Bernice McConnell on October 8, 1934, in Lockhart. She graduated from Lockhart High School in 1953. Helen married Emory Sharp. They were married 50 years before he passed on November 17, 2001.

Helen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She loved cooking; she worked at Cross Country Nursing Home as the Head Cook for a number of years. Helen, like most women, also loved shopping with her daughter, Ann; they would go shopping every weekend. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whom will be dearly missed.

Helen is survived by her 2 daughters, Ann Perkins and husband Yancy of Brownwood, Gail Hargrave and husband Charles of Killeen; 4 grandchildren, Bianca Woods and husband Ben, Jessica Perkins, Daniel Neveready and wife Tiffany, David Neveready and wife Sharon; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 brothers, Kenneth McConnell, Boyce McConnell, Fred McConnell, James McConnell and wife Charlotte. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Sharp; and her parents, Ralph and Bernice McConnell.
