Sgt. Joe Thomas with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop December 31 in the 3500 block of FM 2126 for speeding and failure to maintain a single lane. Nathan Dennis Hughes was arrested for driving while intoxicated with an open container.
Deputies were advised December 30 were advised of a domestic disturbance on County Road 611. While in route to the address, deputies were advised of shots fired at the residence with the suspect, Brent Stacey Carmack leaving the scene in a white Nissan pickup. Deputy Mason Fabbiani and Early Police Officer Andre Smoot located the vehicle near the intersection of FM 2632 and FM 2125. The vehicle was stopped and Carmack was secured. After a brief investigation, Carmack was placed in custody for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Brown County Jail.
In other incidents involving the sheriff’s office:
• An illegal dumping report was taken after a large amount of construction debris was dumped into a dumpster. The homeowner did not give permission.
• A report was taken regarding a man who shot a neighbor’s dogs who had attacked and killed one of his lambs.
