Brown County Sheriff, Vance Hill, told KOXE/KBWD News that the kitchen project will start in about two weeks and will take about five weeks to complete.   The process calls for taking out all the old equipment, ripping up the old floors, repainting the walls and ceilings and then place a new ceramic type tile floor.  During that time, inmates will be served mainly cold meals but the Sheriff’s Department has reached out to some local restaurant owners who are going to help the county prepare some of the meals.

As of Monday, March 25, there were 145 inmates in the Brown County Law Enforcement Center, according to Sheriff Hill in his report to County Commissioners.
