The Brownwood Police Department issued a statement Wednesday, March 27, concerning the 7 month old victim of an assault which happened on March 5th at an apartment in the 300 Block of Bluffview.
The child has died from injuries received in what officials suspect is child abuse.
Assistant Police Chief James Fuller issued the following statement, “it is with great sadness that I report that the baby boy referenced in our initial investigation has passed away. Our hearts go out to the family and all involved in this tragic event.”
The 21 year old boyfriend of the child’s mother, Evan Travis Williford, remains in Brown County Jail. According to jail records, he has been charged with 3 offenses including injury to a child, possession of marijuana in a drug free zone and burglary of a habitation.
