Brown Co. Sheriff’s Department Report

The following are calls responded to by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in recent days and reports released to the media on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

On March 25, 2019, a Deputy was dispatched to Green Oaks Dr. on a suspicious vehicle. A man and woman were arrested for Possession of Marijuana. One was also arrested for Public Intoxication. A report was made.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at approximately 15:15, a Deputy was dispatched to an address in the 9000 Block of CR 105 in reference to an illegal dumping report and investigation.

On 3/28/19, at approximately 1947 hours, a Deputy initiated a traffic stop on at US 377. A man was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or more, Obstruction or Retaliation, and Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport. He was taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood draw, and then transported to the Brown County Jail where he was released to jail staff.

On March 27, 2019, at 07:13 hrs, a Deputy was dispatched to 3rd St. in Blanket, Texas in regards to unwanted person. Upon arrival, the Deputy met with a man who said a man drove onto his property on March 26, 2019 and cased a disturbance. The complainant requested a Criminal Trespass Warning be issued. A report was taken.

On March 29, 2019, at 14:49 hrs, a Deputy was advised by dispatch an off-duty San Saba County deputy had observed a vehicle heading into Brown County with a wanted female driving. The vehicle was located with the wanted subject. After further investigation, a woman was arrested for Failure to Identify as a Fugitive.  One man was arrested for Hindering Apprehension.  Both were transported to the Brown County Jail and released to staff.

On March 29, 2019, a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. A strong odor of marijuana was observed coming from the vehicle, and a probable cause search was done. There was 2.0 grams of marijuana located.  A man was placed in custody for Possession of Marijuana.

On Saturday, March 30, 2019, at about 19:35 hours, a Deputy responded to CR 215 in regards to a civil matter on the possession of a vehicle. Upon arriving on scene, Deputy Simpson noticed a white male subject walking towards the Jim Ned Creek. The subject was later identified. This was after he had given a false name, due to knowing he had a warrant.  The Deputy located brass knuckles and a marijuana pipe on the suspect.   The Deputy also located a baggie of marijuana which the man had attempted to throw into the Jim Ned Creek. He was arrested on the warrant, Failed to ID as Fugitive (providing false information), Possession of Prohibited Weapon (Brass Knuckles), Possession of Marijuana <2oz, and Tampering with Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair.

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, at about 12:08 AM, a Deputy was dispatched to a verbal domestic. A man stated a woman (suspect) had hit him with a bottle of lotion and a can of Sprite. To prevent further acts of violence, the woman was arrested for Assault Family Violence Causes Bodily Injury and transported to the Brown County Jail where she was released to jail staff.

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, at about 6:18 pm, a Deputy responded to W. Main Blvd. in regards to a male victim stating the female suspect was threatening to shoot him. Upon making contact with him, he stated the woman had called him multiple times threatening to shoot him, and he has had no running water at the residence. The Deputy also spoke to the woman who stated she has not threatened the man and he has called her over 100 times in 48 hours. A report was made.

On 4/1/19, at approximately 1643 hours, a Deputy responded to CR 215. This was for an unauthorized use of motor vehicle report. The incident is still being investigated.

On 04/01/2019, a Deputy performed a traffic stop on a silver Dodge near the intersection of Bluff View Drive and La Vista. This was in regards to the vehicle driving 96 mph on US HWY 67 West. During the interaction the Deputy noticed a bag of marijuana and a scale in the open sweater pocket of the male driver.  The Deputy also located 2 more baggies containing Alprazolam and Dextroamphetamine.  The subject had also been drinking earlier in the day, but had passed field sobriety tests.
