To celebrate the western heritage of Coleman County, Great Western Trail Days will take place this weekend, April 26th, 27th and 28th.
The Great Western Cattle Trail passed through Coleman County in the late 1800’s. To honor the legacy of the great cattle drives, numerous events are being planned throughout Coleman including an Open Longhorn Show at the Coleman Rodeo Grounds, Drover’s Market with Old West Vendors and Demonstrations at the Courthouse, Western Art and Quilt Show and Sale at Heritage Hall, Pioneer Women Library Exhibits and book signings, Team Roping at the Rodeo Grounds, Downtown Parade and much more. The list of events can be found on the website below.
Most of the events are free to attend, except for the Friday night Circle C Cattlewomen Wild West Scholarship Round-Up and the Saturday night Destination Coleman Western Swing Dance and Dinner featuring The Western Flyers.
