Brownwood City Council Approves Concrete Bid for Milam Drive Upgrade

The Brownwood City Council was in session Tuesday morning, April 23, at City Hall.  All Council members were present, Mayor Stephen Haynes presided.

The Council awarded a low bid of $53,490 for concrete work on Milam Drive to Ribble Concrete and Land Construction.  The city’s estimate for the project was $57,555.

The City of Brownwood Street Department is in the process of rebuilding Milam Drive from Indian Creek Road to Mustang Drive and is preparing the subgrade and base for installation of curb and gutter.  The monies to pay for this project are from the 2016 bond funds.

The Council went into Executive Session for consultation with attorney in the case of the City of Brownwood versus Jerry Shepherd.  Back in open session, there was no action taken.

There were no visitors to address the Council Tuesday.
