The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a FLOOD WARNING for the Colorado River near Ballinger.
The warning will run from Wednesday evening to Friday afternoon or until the warning is canceled.
As of 8:00 am Wednesday, the stage of the Colorado River near Ballinger was 5.8 feet. Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
The Colorado is expected to rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to rise to near 20.0 feet by Thursday morning.
The Colorado will fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
At flood stage of 18.0 feet, minor lowland flooding of pasture land will occur.
All this water will make it’s way into the O.H. Ivie Reservoir.
O.H. Ivie was 54.5% full as of Wednesday morning.
