Brown County Commissioners met Monday morning, May 13, 2019. All Commissioners were present. Precinct 2 Commissioner, Joel Kelton, presided in the absence of County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly. The meeting only lasted 20 minutes.
No action was taken on the Burn Ban, meaning it remains off at this time.
No action was taken on fireworks during the Memorial Day season, meaning fireworks are not allowed but there have not been any requests for fireworks in the County at this time, either.
Commissioners voted 4-0 to give Precinct 2 Commissioner, Joel Kelton, permission to buy a 15-foot Alamo winged mower. The cost is $34,622 to be paid out of Precinct 2 funds.
County Treasurer, Ann Krpoun, reported 1st Quarter Investments performed well, making $48,480 off interest alone.
Commissioners also voted 4-0 to give County Elections Administrator, Larry Franks, permission for out of state travel so that he may attend the National Election Center Conference and Graduation in Orlando, Florida.
