The Brownwood Police Department responded to the following offense and incident reports in recent days.
On May 6, 2019, Brownwood PD was dispatched to a north Brownwood address in regards to a male and female fighting in a vehicle which resulted in the arrest of the male for local active warrant and a report being generated for assault family violence. The incident happened in the 600 block of N. Center.
On May 10, 2019 at 1247 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer was dispatched to the Brownwood Fire Department in reference to a possible domestic disturbance. The female victim had driven to the fire station for assistance. This call led to the arrest of a male subject for Violation of a Protective Order. The male was transported to the Brown County Jail without incident.
On Friday, May 10, 2019 an Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Waco Street and Walnut Avenue in reference to a dog at large. The complainant advised the dog had tried to attack a lady. The owner of the dog was located in the 1800 block of Waco and a citation was issued.
On Friday, May 10, 2019 an Officer was dispatched to the intersection of 7th Street and Brady Avenue in reference to two loose dogs. The officer located the dogs in the yard in the 1900 block of Brady Avenue. The officers spoke to the owner of the dogs and a citation was issued for non-vaccinated animal.
On Friday, May 10, 2019 an Officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of Avenue E in reference to animal cruelty. The complainant advised there were dogs that appeared to be starving. Contact was made with the owner and he was given the option to take the dogs to a veterinarian or owner surrender the dogs to the Corinne T Smith Animal Shelter. Later in the evening, one of the dogs that had been chained in the back yard in the 1900 block of Avenue E was found running loose near the Animal Shelter. A report was generated based on the information that was gathered from this incident.
On Friday, May 10, 2019 Officers responded to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue in reference to a male subject hitting another male’s car. After speaking with all parties involved, a male subject was taken to jail for criminal mischief.
On May 10, 2019, Brownwood PD was dispatched to the 100 block of Cordell Street in north Brownwood in regards to a trespassing incident which resulted in a report being generated for indecent exposure.
On Saturday, May 11, 2019 Officers responded to the 2300 block of Magnolia Street in reference to drugs or narcotics located. After speaking to all involved parties, a male subject was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and transported to Brown County Jail.
On Saturday, May 11, 2019, at approximately 0150 hours, Officers of the Brownwood Police Department were dispatched to a south Brownwood residence in the 2300 block of Vine Street in regards to a reckless driver. An investigation and report were completed.
On Saturday, May 11, 2019 officers were dispatched to the 200 block of North Fisk Avenue for a report of Criminal Mischief. Information was gathered at the scene and a report was generated.
On Sunday, May 12, 2019 Brownwood PD was dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 2000 block of Vincent in regards to an argument that occurred between a male and female which resulted in a report for assault family violence being generated.
On Sunday, May 12, 2019 Officers responded to the 1500 block of Davis Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. After speaking with all involved parties, a male subject was taken into custody and transported to the Brown County Jail for active warrants and fail to ID.
On Sunday, May 12, 2019, Officers responded to the 2000 block of Austin Avenue in reference to a male trying to gain access to residences. After speaking to a male subject located in the area, the man was taken into custody and transported to Brown County Jail for Public Intoxication.
On Sunday, May 12, 2019 Brownwood PD was dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 700 block of Booker Street in regards to a broken window at a vacant rent house, which resulted in a report being generated for criminal mischief.
On Sunday, May 12, 2019 Brownwood PD was dispatched to a north Brownwood business in the 200 block of East Commerce in regards to a Hit and Run, which resulted in a report being generated.
