The following calls were received by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in recent days.
On Friday, May 10, 2019, at 11:00 hours, a Deputy was contacted by a Brownwood Police Officer about an assault which occurred in the county. The officer advised that, while he was on a harassment call at Magnolia Street in Brownwood, a woman told him she had been assaulted. Upon arrival the Deputy met with the victim. A report was taken.
On May 11, 2019, a Deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Early Blvd and CR 381. This was for Failure to Maintain Single Lane. After investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated to the degree he could not operate a motor vehicle safely. The man was placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to Brown County Jail.
On May 11, 2019, at about 12:15 hours, a Deputy arrived at the Brown County Jail in regards to an inmate on inmate assault. The Deputy spoke to the Jailer who stated the assault was caused after a verbal argument over the TV.
On Saturday, May 11, 2019, at approximately 14:26, a Deputy was dispatched to a local address in reference to an assault-family violence report and investigation. The Deputy met with the victim who stated her father had hit her in the face at an address in the county. The report will follow.
